Volunteer Debt Advisors
We have several vacancies for volunteer Debt Advisors.
In this role you will assist clients to get a clear picture of their financial situation, ensure correct entitlement to benefits where appropriate and negotiate with creditors up to and including bankruptcy. The ideal candidate would be comfortable dealing with clients and other agencies in person, by telephone and letter. You will have an empathetic, non judgemental approach and will value accuracy and attention to detail. Volunteers will be expected to take both external and in house training to meet the requirements of the role and will receive ongoing support from our experienced mentoring team. Full training will be given on the software programmes used by the IAC. Volunteers must be available for 2 sessions per week, either morning or afternoon.

Do you have DIY or admin skills?
Are you interested in helping people who are going through a time when they need a little extra support?
People who have their own car and would be willing to transport clients to and from the Wantage and Grove Day Centres. Petrol costs will be reimbursed at 40p per mile.
Anytime given for the Good Neighbour or Driver posts is very flexible and entirely up to the volunteer.
All applicants will need to complete a CRB check.
